Hi, I'm Brian. I help people pass the ARE®.
I’m Brian! I’m a California-licensed Architect, AIA, Associate DBIA, LEED AP BD+C, and a Magna Cum Laude graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from USC. I also am an Architectural Exam Prep Coach, and my goal is helping others who are currently feeling lost, confused, overwhelmed, or intimidated by the AREs.
I tutor all six ARE® 5.0 divisions (PcM, PjM, PA, PPD, PDD, and CE). I coach candidates through these exams with study plans that are direct, efficient, and accountable. I provide targeted outlines, module-based learning material, problem sets, frameworks, and practice prompts. Although these exams are tough, they’re very winnable with clear goals, targeted practice, and smart strategy.
When I'm not tutoring, I'm working in practice, which means the examples in our sessions come from real projects, not flash cards.
Excited to be on this journey with you :-)
How I teach
- ✓Small pieces, full honesty. You rate your confidence on every module, so we always know exactly what to work on next, no comfortable re-reading of things you already know.
- ✓The trap is the lesson. NCARB® questions are built around predictable misconceptions. Every module names the trap before the exam can spring it.
- ✓Diagrams over paragraphs. Contract relationships, the MacLeamy curve, repose timelines. If it can be drawn, it's drawn.
- ✓Real-project context. Abstract clauses stick when you've seen where they bite on an actual job.
