Arch LunchboxTerms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Arch Lunchbox (“we,” “us”), operated by Brian Rohrlick, and govern your use of arelunchbox.com, the study system, and our tutoring services (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service, creating an account, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. The Service
Arch Lunchbox provides module-based study materials, practice questions, diagrams, and quizzes for the ARE® 5.0 exam, along with optional one-on-one tutoring. Some content is available as a free trial (the first three modules of each section, plus the first section quiz, in each division); full access requires a paid subscription. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Accounts
To access paid features you’ll create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential and not share your account.
- Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
Your account is for your personal, individual use. Notify us promptly at info@archlunchbox.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Subscriptions & billing
Module access is offered as a recurring subscription (for example, $39/month, with multi-month options). By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
- Refunds. Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law. If something goes wrong, email us; we’ll try to make it right.
- Price changes. We may change prices; changes apply to future billing periods, and we’ll give you reasonable notice.
- Discount codes. Promotional codes are subject to their own terms and may be limited or withdrawn at any time.
4. Tutoring
One-on-one tutoring is sold separately (for example, $90/hour) and scheduled by arrangement. Session times, rescheduling, and cancellation are handled between you and us in good faith. Tutoring is educational coaching; it is not a guarantee of any exam result.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, resell, publish, or publicly share the study content or your account access.
- Use the content to create a competing product or service.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service, or attempt to circumvent access controls or paywalls.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the Service or its security.
- Use the Service unlawfully or to infringe anyone’s rights.
6. Intellectual property
The Service and its content, including the modules, questions, diagrams, text, design, and branding, are owned by Arch Lunchbox or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for your own ARE® exam preparation while your account is in good standing. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Your personal notes remain yours.
7. No NCARB® affiliation
Arch Lunchbox is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NCARB® (the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards) or any licensing board. ARE® and Architect Registration Examination® are registered trademarks of NCARB®, used here only to describe the exam our materials help you prepare for. Always confirm current exam requirements and content with NCARB® directly.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided for educational purposes on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the content is complete, accurate, current, or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
We do not guarantee that you will pass the ARE® or any exam. Nothing here is legal, financial, or professional advice. Your results depend on many factors outside our control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arch Lunchbox and Brian Rohrlick will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
